Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Harry Potter was a normal boy, or so he thought, until a letter arrived at his aunt and uncle's house, informing him that he will be attending the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

There he finds a magical world, including dangerous creatures, such as a baby dragon and a giant three-headed dog. He has to figure out how to get around a ghost-filled castle with shifting stairways and portraits that talk to you. But that's the easy part. He also has to battle an enchanted mirror and chessboard, which isn't as easy as you might think it is.

While this is all happening, Harry is making new friends. And new enemies. By the end of the year, he has two best friends and the promise of excitement for the rest of his life.

I like this book because it has everything a story needs: adventure, drama, friendship, excitement, humor, and MAGIC!
